Sir William Jackson Hooker (1785-1865) was a British systematic botanist and lichenologist who authored over 259 taxon names. His son was also a famous botanist, Sir Joseph Dalton Hooker, who succeeded him in the Directorship of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
