Korea: Signing the armistice to end the Korean War, Panmunjom, July 26 1953
General William K. Harrison, Jr., seated at left, and North Korean General Nam Il, seated at right, sign armistice documents in Armistice Hall in Panmunjom, a no-man's-land between the Koreas. The 1953 Korean armistice agreement did stop the fighting, but no final peace treaty was signed.
