Malaysia: A steam train waits in the Batu Caves railway station, early 20th century
This privately owned rail line, not part of the Federated Malay States Railways (FMSR), was used to ship tin from a nearby mine.
The Batu Caves, near Kuala Lumpur, attract about a million visitors, drawn from all faiths and traditions, each January or February when Thaipusam celebrations are held here.
