China: The Canton (Guangzhou) silk and tea merchant Eshing, School of Spoilum (Guan Zuolin) , c. 1805
Eshing was a rich Cantonese Hong merchant. His tea was of such high quality that it sold for 50 percent more than that of other merchants. Because of his reputation he was sought by Western traders to inspect their purchases of tea.
