Japan: 'A True View of the Monkey Bridge in the Province of Kai’, Hokuju Shotei (active 1787-1818)

Hokuju was one of the best students of Hokusai. He produced very original landscapes with cubist landforms, stylized clouds and photographic figures. His curiously modern landscapes were apparently influenced by the Western art concept which was very new to his era.
