Vietnam: Tram Ton Pass in the Hoang Lien Son range of mountains, northwest Vietnam

The Tram Ton Pass (1900 metres) is the highest pass in Vietnam. North of the pass the weather is often cold, south of the pass often warm and sunny, marking Vietnam's hottest and coldest points. The pass is just 15 kilometres southwest of the hill resort of Sapa, one of Vietnam's premier tourist destinations.
