An Armenian-American sponsored refugee camp in Aleppo, Syria, c. 1922. The original image was a postcard used to raise funds for the camp. Assisted by missionaries, these refugees, mostly women and children from the vicinity of Kharpert, Historic Armenia, made needlework to sell, the proceeds from which helped to support them and purchase passage to the United States.
