China: Sealed document from Khotan c.3rd-4th century CE.

This manuscript, discovered by Sir Aurel Stein at Khotan, exemplifies the cultural crossroads that was the Silk Road. Written in an Indian Gandharan language using Central Asian Kharoshi script, it bears two seals. The first is in classical Chinese script, while the second bears a likeness of a traditional Greek head.
