Malaysia: Admiral Lord Louis Mountbatten congratulates Chin Peng of the Malayan People's Anti-Japanese Army in Singapore (1945).
Chin Peng (born 1924), was born Ong Boon Hua (Mandarin: Wang Yonghua or Wang Wenhua) in Sitiawan, and was a long-time leader of the Malayan Communist Party (MCP). A determined anti-colonialist, he was noted for leading the party's guerrilla insurgency in the Malayan Emergency and beyond.
